LAST USRAH: CCUB 4621

Image
INFOGRAPHIC  : Good and bad deeds during Ramadhan REFLECTION Alhamdulillah this semester, I have attended my last Usrah Budi class for degree, CCUB 4621, section  237 . Having Sr. Izzah Farhana as our Naqibah this semester was a blissful experience as she had given great guidance for us throughout the course.  Despite sharing the session with students of different courses, I felt like we were all sisters from different families. Especially during the start of our class where we get to recite Al-Mathurat together. This was such a great addition to our classes since as full-time students, it can be hard sometimes to find the time to recite the Al-Mathurat. There were definitely a lot of important lessons I gained from our classes. My favourite was the topic of  maqasid shariah though its a topic we are all already familiar with. Frankly, I feel that at the midst of everything going on around the world, from the pandemic to the unfortunate events in Palestine, it ...

CEP Update: Google Survey

Google Survey A Google survey was done by two of our session mates for the CEP. The survey entitled 'The State of Contentment' to observe the current state of contentment and satisfaction towards self. From this survey, results were gathered for our own data collection. The survey can be accessed through this link:  CLICK ME! Analysis as per shared by Nazifa: The analysis found that majorities of the followers experienced stress regarding their physical and mental state throughout covid-19. However, this condition is not as serious as more than half of the respondents stay at home. Since they are with their family, they think that the time available is very necessary to strengthen their relationship. Furthermore, their boredom is also filled with beneficial activities such as reading books and study materials. Besides that, they agreed that they spend a lot of time watching entertainment such as dramas and movies to get rid of boredom and to release their stress. Although cov...

CEP: A Global Pandemic: A Global Cry for Mental Health Awareness

Community Engagement Project (CEP) For Usrah Budi 03 this semester, I participated in the CEP Task to spread awareness on mental health issues during the COVID-19 pandemic. We had created a social media page, specifically an Instagram account to be the medium for our messages. Posts and Instagram stories were updated based on the task distribution table set earlier during our discussion. I was specifically in charge of the Instagram stories. What I did was post a question and answer sticker in the morning to ask our followers how they were feeling. From the sticker, I received a number of responses. From there, I shared tips to help them with how they are feeling at the moment. Instagram link:  CLICK ME! Post link:   CLICK ME!

THE SIDE EFFECT OF PORNOGRAPHY ON THE SPIRITUAL, PSYCHOLOGICAL, FAMILIAR AND SOCIAL OF ONESELF

Based on Malamuth (1993), pornography literally means the “writing of harlots” or “depictions of acts of prostitues.” It’s closely related to materials intended to arouse sexual feelings that may include sexist or violet elements. As we know, Islam opposes the act of watching or being involved in pornography. Pornography is agreed by all scholars to be included in the term Fusha (Mujahid, 2019) which means anything shameful. Not just in Islam, people of all faith do not favor pornography. It is not a norm that is accepted to be publicly projected in the mainstream media, even in America. It is also seen as immoral, due to that, let’s discuss the reasons or side effects that pornography brings.  Side Effect on One’s Spiritual Self As a Muslim, pornography could be a risk to one’s faith. The most obvious reason is, when one does an act that is prohibited by Allah, the further away one is from the right path. A little act might not look harmful but when being...

Assignments

UNGS 2011 This is my assignment for Creative Thinking Class. It is basically ways to reduce use of plastic using the Six Thinking Hats technique. I did this assignment with 4 other of my group members. A lot of my other assignments are written reports and videos which were too big to be uploaded sadly.

Da'wah Challenge

Image
Salam, I want to tell my experience of carrying out this Da'wah Challenge. This is Peipei from China. She is a communication student but I've never talked to her before. Over the past few weeks I've always wanted to talk to her as I like her dressings. They are cute and pretty but still modest. So I took the opportunity to do this challenge to her. I managed to say Salam to her and she greeted me back friendly! Since then, I kept saying hi and salam everytime I bumped into her. We ended up joining IIUMTV together. It was a great experience as I managed to make a new friend from another country through this challenge.
