ABOUT ME
Ainina Hasnul Jamal
21, Penang Island, MY.
Here's a little something about me, I am a 21-year-old IIUM student majoring in Integrated Media Journalism.
Currently staying in Penang due to COVID-19. I enjoy music and art during my free time and I value friendships
& hard work as my main priority in life.
ABOUT ME ( last usrah)
Before I was born, my dad had made a prayer during Umrah for God to bless him with a son. I have two siblings before me and both are female. I could understand why my dad made the wish and somehow I think the wish had its own good to it as I am actually now the closest to my dad out of all my other siblings. My parents named me Ainina. It's a short and simple name, followed by my dad's name, Hasnul Jamal. Ainina means our eyes, Hasnul means the good and Jamal means the beautiful. I like to understand my name as seeing the good and the beautiful. Being the daughter of two artists gave me a beautiful creative childhood experience. When I was born in 1999, my parents were already selling paintings all over the states in Malaysia. We moved a lot too, I was born in Sarawak, raised in Kuala Lumpur than in Penang. I spent most of my life in Penang.
Growing up with two sisters taught me to love and care. I am very close with my two older sisters. I am four years younger than my second sister and seven years younger than my eldest sister. They set up good examples for me and I never felt like in a competition with them, which I believe some siblings do. Dad was born in Perak and mum is from Johor. We ended up in Penang because my dad was transferred to University Sains Malaysia. They say Penang is a food paradise, it sure is. We got a lot of tourists here, hence, my mum owns a Batik Shop in Georgetown. I am very close with my family and we do a lot of things together. I am very grateful for having them as they support me in a lot of things that I do.
Talking about me, I am a loud 20-year-old studying in IIUM Gombak. I am currently doing a degree in something I really love which is communication. Ironically, despite being a very loud and friendly person, I see myself as someone who is very private. I spend a lot of my time with my self and I don't really enjoy giving people exposures or opening myself up to random people. However, I am still a friendly person. I don't mind talking to people and mixing around because I feel like I am good at adapting to different types of people. I put priorities on the people I love and on my education. I am very positive and bright as I always try to find the good in every situation. All thanks to my parents, who brought me up that way, Alhamdulillah.
